After tying all the flies I slacked off except for the rootbeer jigs. After tying on the 10/12, 14 and 16 size hooks a 2 and 4 look huge!!!!!!!!!!

Yes I do. The Dog River which through our area is very well known. The FW people have ponds all over the state and they all have trout in them.

I remember fishing for trout growing up in some of the places my dad was stationed in the air force, colorado, alaska, and germany. germany was probably the best of all as far as the quality of the fishing.

Have a great one buddy!! They're telling us the weather is going to change but I can handle the cold but leave the snow up in the ski areas.

yeah, tomorrow is supposed to be nice then it'll start getting colder, cleaned up a few jigheads this evening before dinner, then base coat painted them white, will paint more tomorrow. since I have some green chart. kiptails, these will most likely be made at least with that hair. One of my mainstay kiptail jig colors for the last five years has been all green chart. including the head. Also wondering what an all gr. chart. jig with some pink splashed down it's sides would look like, gotta try that just to see.

I painted up some more heads yesterday evening with base coat white vinyl, a few with ec 570 BP hooks and a few with bronze VMC's, and also found some painted up heads that I forgot about, orange ones and white ones, they were stuck in a cardboard box for curing but got shoved in behind some stuff. I was working yesterday but some of our freinds hunted my farm and took four deer, one was a nice buck with 19 inch wide rack, a fifteen year old boy got him.

thanks happy!! Doug, I can get all the hide and tails I want, but haven't messed with them in a while. I just froze them and when I was tying, I would take one out and use it, no splitting the tail and drying it etc. there is a guy down in north carolina that uses small 1/16 and 3/32 white bucktails for crappies, he uses red thread and most the time leaves the head bare, he casts, counts down to desired depth and retreives them over brush piles and catches thousands of crappies each year this way, I tied a bunch up one time but never used them much, altho I did catch some crappies in a pond with them.

the hide would be good for muddler flies, but the kiptail is better for what I do because it's more durable and it's longer in most cases, if I tied trout flies I would be all over it tho. I had about fifteen tails in the freezer last year when a hurricane caused us to lose power for four days, so I threw them out, haven't messed with them since, just haven't been doing alot of cast and retreive fishing, the bobber and hair jig with a minnow attached is more relaxing for me.
