thanks Heath! I'll finally have a little time to mess with the jigs in the next five days, still have some things around the house to do but it's getting under control. really would like to pour a few too.

don't know if I have any size 4 VMC's left but there are the eagle claw black platinum size 4's and need to pour some of those up.

I've got 2000 #2's and #4's in old Mustad stock and a 1000 #6, these old stock are good hooks and never had a problem with them. Also have a bunch of old stock EC's and some samples of Owner jig hooks they sent me, plus the 100 or so red sickles I found in an envelope that I forgot I had.

I think I'm gonna pop for some of the VMC's in #2 and #4 in the Black Nickle. I have some 1/8th and 1/4 oz. ball heads poured with VMC bronze and they are good hooks.

I actually went through and pulled out and arranged all my poured unpainted heads last night and I'll go from there on what I think I need to pour up. After I did all that I tied some more jigs.

thanks guys!! Heath, let me see what I have in the way of painted up pink heads, I tied up four of those, and not sure if I have any more pink heads, but will get some to you at any rate, if I gotta paint them it'll take longer tho. Do you have much luck with the lectric chicken?

the style of putting the splash of contrasting color down each side of the jig with the kiptail creates a little thicker neck because of using the four hair groups instead of two and it takes a few more wraps of thread, but with certain color combos I like the effect.

yeah, the four hair clumps going on the jighead may be better suited to the redman head because it's a little fatter , letting the threadneck still look smaller in diam. than the head. At any rate I bet the fish will bite any of them, the round head would work too. Did a little tying tonite and also baked some powder painted heads for my dads shad fishing in the spring.

well I have messed with powder for alot of years, and I had so many heads to do with dads heads, that was the only option. I have a jar of powder that is called flame, which is a blaze orange color, but just a shade darker than the actual blaze orange they have, dad swears by it for the hickory and white shad in the spring, he puts these heads with 1 1/2" curly tails and adds split shot above it depending on the current and depth. he catches twice as many shad as other people using shad darts most the time.

Doug, the powder is just for dads shad heads and anything that I gotta get done super fast, and also certain colors that I can't get in vinyl. the vinyl is more durable and has a better finish with the clear over it, plus you can cut the hair against it with the razor blade and it won't chip like the powder, I bake the poiwder heads too, and the vinyl is still more durable, altho it is more expensive it seems. Did a little pouring today, got the 1/8 pinkie mold out and poured them with three different hooks, just trying to see what seems to be the best hook for that mold, also poured a few 1/16 pinkies out of my homemade mold, had the front and back doors of the shop open and the wind was comming thru there pretty cold too, so I never got into a long run, the wind just made it uncomfortable. probably tied 10 jigs too, and also packaged up a bunch of tied jigs that have been curing the clear coat.

Got some things done then. I did some tying yesterday on my flies and posted them - and then tried some jigs from all my left over pieces - only thing outside of that stuff I could use was jig heads and thread. Then turned around and had a DUH moment and only tied 4.

Haven't even done the check on what I have poured but not painted but I know it's alot, but gonna pour more anyway.

I didn't do anything with the jigs today, had to go get a treatment for my nerve disease and they give me benadryl before giving me the treatment, so have been lethargic all day.
