finished up the 24 pink and white pinkies for the crappie guy and also made 4 of the jigs that caught the fish the other day since I only had a couple, those 2 jigs saved that fishing day, so that is a good reason to tie at least 2 of any new jig you tie. Also fished the flash blend boolie jig the other day and caught a decent bluegill on it but the head wasn't painted and the hair was gray so that wasn't the best color combo for the dingy water, it performed good tho comming thru the water, I need to get some gold prop blades too, you can't see the silver very good it's spinning so fast.

that boolie jig really did look great comming thru the water! I had it on the 1/16 pinkie head with a long shank size 6 hook and the prop was a medium wapsi which fit this jig perfect, a smaller prop couldn't have gone over the hooks barb as I had to push this one on there pretty good to get it over the barb, I used a black chrome metal bead that is used for flies, it too was also a little tuff getting over the barb, but the prop spins better with the small bead, less friction between the prop and bead I recon.

You'll find it tough even with the Worth propellers. I use a finishing nail to open up the hole. Beads made for bead head flies work really well as they're made to go over a hook barb.

Doug, I took the prop and put one blade in the fly vice, and supported the other blade with a finger, this left one hand to grab the jighead and push the hooks point thru the props hole, it took a little wiggling and pushing, but doing it this way kept me from getting stuck with the hook and also helped keep me from bending the blade. tied some more jigs tonight, four pink and whites for my box and also the two tone green hair with the green head and red thread, this was the one that produced fish the other day in murky water, the vinyl paint color for the head is listed as bright green by CS, first time I had really used this color head, but that crappie fishing guy I have befreinded says that color head is one of his favorites. maybe I'll take a pic of it tomorrow after work.

working today, and want to get home so I can play out in the shop some. that sandy storm is getting ready to hit the east coast, bet that will mess up the fishing some, just hope it doesn,t tear up too much around my farm, we are out in the open feilds and when a big wind comes we have no protection or windbreaks. last time we lost power for 5 days and I was taking baths in our pool, and cooking on a little one burner propane bottle stove barely big enough to hold a little pot. lol shingles on the house and shop is what I'm most concerned about. Doug, it may be comming your way too!!

getting low on some prime colors of kiptail, think I may have some more but I gotta look in some boot boxes to find out, only problem is I have a gazillion painted jigheads stuck in these boxes around the edges curing, and to pick them up and open them could cause the jigs to fall all over the place. lol been using alot of white lately. I don't like to let the jigheads touch anything till the paint gets good and hard. wish I had some extra money right now to get a bunch of tails and hooks, do ya think momma will notice if I set the credit card on fire? lol maybe if I beat her to the mailbox and bootleg the bill to where she don't see it. lol

tied a few plump pink and white hair jigs this evening and then took a couple pics of the green jig that worked so well the other day when water visibility was low. they could see this one I recon.

Can you say when you play with fire you get burned!!!! LOL believe me the wife WILL see one way or another!!!!

Yeah we already know we're gonna get high winds and 8"+ rain, they're calling for 50-70 mph winds but we're down at the bottom of the hills, alot depends on which way the winds blow, if they go straight across the tops it's not bad when they shoot straight down we get lots of problems. I've got everything put away for winter so hoping we don't get it too bad. Just hope the state doesn't have the flooding we got from Irene it wouldn't be good.

Yeah I used red thread but haven't been doing much fishing with the weather. And Friday I'll be a homebody for a while as the wife has surgery then out for a bit. Damned ISP is still screwing up except for Jig Craft, wish there were someone else around to switch too.

Based on your description before I saw the photo I tied up this split green (then you said chartreuse!!LOL) on a roundhead light olive head. I need to tie it up on a redman green head. The two colors are bright green and olive bucktail

I do also have a bright green powder paint from crazy and it also looks very good, a little different shade but it is every bit as visible. there was alot of tales being told at the store, with the storm everyone was huddled up down there, had to tell your story hard and fast or someone would bust right in and talk over top of ya, I held my own. lol still not sure about the 570 BP jighooks, as ron don got some semi sharp ones in size 2, at that price they may not be consistent in sharpness.the old lazer sharps would have really done the trick, why can't they just make exactly what we need? lol Doug, hope your wife does ok with the surgery.

Did tie up some more pink and whites and orange and white pinky jigs this evening, then cleaned out the paint in the eyes of some jigs and put them in plastic slips and stapled them closed. got all the jigs done for the trade I'm making for that 1/8 jig mold. I'm about out of good white kiptail hair.

Thanks buddy!! Yeah I know what you mean about hooks and I get it even worse with the fly hooks. I've got a guy who I bought from on ebay that had old style dry fly hooks from Mustad and I bought 2000 of each. Put a 1000 of each in lots of 100 up on my fly tying sites and made back all my money and still had a 1000 of each size left for me.

Once in while you can find the old lazer sharp but you'd think the damned things were made of gold for what they want for them.
