packaged up quite a few of the tied jigs today after cleaning the eyelets, and got the wife to show me what I was doing wrong with my phone as far as sending photos to my email. should get the rest of the jigs packaged tomorrow and out of the way so I can paint some more heads.

Heath, thanks as always for posting those pics for me! notice how the hooks eyelet leg is farther forward than some of my other jigs, this was done to be sure the head would track straight when slow trolled. this was designed in regards to the guy Iv'e befreinded recently, who is one heck of a crappie fisherman, and he prefers to spider rig most of the time. lolI know the redman type head would have been great for this application too, I'm gonna use these for slow trolling also but only using 2 rods and trolling the jigs behind the boat using a cork set to depth and 9-10 foot rods, when a crappie gets on there the rod loads up and keeps tension on him till I can get the rod, I don't know if my patience could handle 6 rods out the front, and putting mi nnows on jigs etc. lol

Doug, the raw one in the pic is from the old custom mold, these finished jigs don't have a collar. I have so much stuff laying around on the bench, and then there is the hair cutting scraps, it's a mess. lol Man I stayed up last nite watching tv and then slept the day away, so Iv'e been worthless. lol getting ready for seven 12-8's, need to use some vacation days before jan. tho so may take a few of them off.

your lucky, I'm getting ready to go to work tonite, working the weekend. rounded up a bunch of jigs for a guy that gave me some real nice sheet lead a couple weeks ago. he is a serious panfisherman, but has been mostly a cricket or minnow guy, I'm trying to get him into hair or marabou jigs.

poured up about a hundred 1/32 round heads for marabou jigs and used the do-it pro mold, was not satisfied with how much I had to clean up the heads, gonna have to make a 1/32 round head mold I guess, whenever I can find a little ball bearing that is the right size. also would like to make another mold to copy my last 1/16 pinkie except make it with a center balance for use under a float.

Yeah I hear ya on having to clean up heads after pouring!!!! My old molds never had this the most I had to do was a quick roll with the file to smooth off the pour spout.

For different size bearings, if you see some dead bicycles laying out in the trash, they use different size ball bearings in the axle's, you might find what you want for FREE!!!

never thought about the old bycycles having ball bearings, will have to keep an eye out. painted up about 50 of those 1/32 round heads with the white base coat, probably go over them one more time today with the white. need to clean up some more pinkie heads also so I can start painting some more of them, sprues need to be smoothed up as well as a little around the eyelets, have about 130 poured and ready to clean up.

Just informed my boss that I'll be taking 4 vacation days off, so this will be the last 12-8 shift, gotta use them up before the end of the year. yesterday I repainted the roundheads with the base coat white vinyl and cleaned up about a 100 pinky heads in preparation for painting, then cleaned up about 150 older style pinkie heads for my dad, he uses them for shad fishing in the spring with little 2" curly tails. may make a trip to bass pro in the morning if my dad wants to go, I need some thread. need to get out and do some more fishing, this is my fav time of year.

ended up going fishing today and it was beautiful out, didn't catch alot of fish though. forgot to bring a hat and had to fashion a hankercheif into a doo rag lol but hey it kept me from getting a sunburned head. I wish I'd had a boolie jig to try today because the crappie actually wanted something moving.

That's one problem I've found with tying so many different ones. You end up having to wear a back brace to carry the bag!!!LOL Hoping it warms up a bit for the weekend I'd really like to try some of the boolies. But the "snow" word is in the forecast.

I should be able to do some jighead painting today as soon as it warms up a little and the humidity dissipates a little, did clean up some more heads yesterday evening after I got home from fishing, I will say one thing though, I had a jig tied with that sf blend synthetic hair they are using on the boolies, and when I put it in the water it really glistened and flashed, this was with the gray color, a pickerel ended up hitting that tipped with a minnow, took seven fish to ole willies house down the street, he really appreciates them!

still cleaning up some heads, doing a little painting and tied a few today that resemble crappie logics gnat, only mine were smaller, he ties his on a 1/0 jighook I believe but they fish for laaaarge crappies down in miss. want to try these because the minnow can struggle and move the jig alot more and it will fall very slow, just another tool in my jig box.
