The web-host that i use for JigCraft.com is in the process of transitioning ownership from one company to another. Of course i've received a few emails already saying the transition will not affect my site or commerce store (the secure login database used for the forum is the same that is used for simple commerce sites) but have already gotten the occasional database error. So far, have only had to refresh the page (by pressing F5 key) to bypass the error. The screen usually says MYBB error or MySQL error or something along those lines.

None of the web addresses, links, bookmarks, login info or anything else with the site will change, just data getting shuffled around on their storage servers. Sounds like the move is scheduled to be completed by the first of the year, so i am expecting the occasional outage until then. If it becomes frequent, let me know and i will see what i can do.

Halloween is right around the corner and then we are in full holiday season swing! Take care all! -: Russ

Has anyone else been getting the error? I was getting it a bunch of times this morning so just ran a complete check/repair/optimize of the database. Have not got the MYBB error since.

Just a couple times Russ, but nothing big. Like you said refresh and move on. But you did miss one thing, its Halloween, then killin and grillin season 2015 before the Holidays.... :icon14:

Wow, that MyBB error was getting worse and worse over the last week or so. Think i may have finally tracked down the problem last night and was able to make a slight change to the database....... fingers crossed, but i have not gotten the error at all today!

The main host/server is still in the process of switching things around, so there may be some temporary outages and glitches.

I have had the issue today.....in fact this post I am writing now, did not post when I hit "post reply".....got the myBB and had to start all over. It was especially bad yesterday and seems extra slow too. I hope it goes thru this time.

It's happened to me the last couple of days but I thought it was at my end. Just happened now when I tried to log on but I 'refreshed' and it came good again.

I need my daily fix of 'jigCraft'. :D

David

Please note two hours later it is doing it a lot now, although when it does if I refresh, the forum comes back.

Whoa..... i think they finally got things straightened up on the server side. Site is running faster than grass through a goose! At the moment anyway. Transfer in the company could be both good and bad. There have been some known issues that needed fixed..... but that means they will likely recoup their cost in a rate hike somewhere down the line. Can't have one without the other i spose.

Yeah.... i got my hopes up but spoke too soon i guess. It was good on that day i posted but then started back up. The server company has switched, so i may have to bite the bullet and make an upgrade. Have to jump several versions to get up to date, so have been putting it off. The issues with updating can be a hand full, but the database errors are really getting old. I will have to do it soon. Thanks for being patient with it everyone. Just keep refreshing pages for now and it usually goes away.

Attica - I came to find this thread because I've been experiencing the errors HEAVILY for over a week. (Not to sound rude, I know these errors are a pain)... I just read one post and couldn't open the 2nd. When I found this thread, got another error opening it.

Just now - trying to post this message, I've just received another error on the post preview. After editing the post, I'm now returning for a third time to update the message again. I've just received 4 errors in a row trying to post this message (4:06 pm, CST). These errors should be on a server log somewhere and easy to locate with the time recorded.

This is likely a table issue (guessing that based on the MySQL errors popping up).

I do this stuff for a living - internet anything (full-time webmaster - http://randomwebdesign.net/ ) and will help straighten things out if you need?
Just PM me if you need help - no charge at all. :icon14:

Otherwise, I know your struggles and feel for ya. Hosting/server issues are such a bummer.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if ya need.

Jerry T - Would love some help trying to diagnose this. I'm a graphic design guy who can just barely muddle through with the hosting, PHP & database stuff. If it is a specific table issue, i might know which one. I have tried to upgrade the MySQL version and get an error from the captcha table every time. Frustrating..... yes! Please send me an email to [email protected] when you get a chance and i will send you what information i have figured out so far. Thanks - Russ

I am praying to the Cyber Gods that y'all get this resolved. It is very frustrating to keep getting that goofy error message.

Yeah - this morning I gave up trying to get in the thread.

Russ.... I know just little bits about forums and have never used MyBB. I can look at things and see if I notice anything causing this issue.

More likely - I can contact your hosting company and work with an IT guy for you. Just email me the name of your hosting company (so I can do a little research to see if others are experiencing the same issues) and what you've figured out along the way ....and I'll take a look ASAP. I'll reply with my cell phone number, if I think I can help.

Just so we don't get our hopes up... this is a flip of the coin type of thing for me.... not quite my niche = lets cross our fingers.

EDIT: [email protected] or [email protected]
