When I got mine at Feathercraft a couple weeks ago I was told they are carrying 44 different colors. I'd go broke if I got one of each so settled on four. UV Peacock,Mackeral, gray and orange for now. Probably pick a new color every trip there for awhile.

I will have to check into it a bit closer.... the redfish color sounds like it would definitely be nice. I've read a lot of Bob Clouser's stuff and have learned a TON from his book "Clouser's Flies"..... would highly recommend it! He teaches why he ties how he does.... it is technique -based, not pattern-based. Lots of info on how he applies different materials and WHY, so you can incorporate it in other patterns as well. The guy is a genius...

Anyhow, thanks for the info! I really wish I could just zip down to Feather Craft like Jim and look em all over! That would be sweet.

alright you flash blend bootleggers, hiding yur secret weapons, what are ya'll catching lately on this stuff? I tied a couple redman head 1/16 jigs with some gray blend and blue thread, that stuff moves alot better when ya tie it sparsely.

I had a telephone talk with Bob Clouser a week ago, and was telling him about my Lake Erie adventures with the "redfish" (burnt orange) color of blend that he'd originally suggested I try. Bob knew of the huge gobie population( a tasty meal for all Erie gamefish) up there and suggested I also try a pattern of BROWN sfblend with a few strands of bleeding black SF on top -looks really tasty &gobie-like! We also discussed tying this stuff very thin, then even thinner, for best results. But, unfortunately, my order from Clouser's shop didn't arrive until I got home from this past weekend's latest Erie adventure. So I stuck with orange while there-discovered a huge school of nice sized crappie just off the pier I was working ,near bottom in 6-8' ; most casts, on the initial drop of my 1/24 oz boolie they'd lap it up before I'd begin any sort of retrieve. If I missed the first hookset, just a short steady motion had em grabbing eagerly! Then, early Sunday morning I had my son and grandson along to get in 2 hrs before the incoming storms struck. My son Sean had the crazy idea to tip the orange Boolie with a 1-2" live crayfish (previous afternoon he & my grandson had a ball in a local stream capturing about 2 dozen crabs). Well, instantly BIG sheepshead went ballistic -the Boolie's spin, vibration, and orange+flash got their attention, while the fresh crab sealed the deal! There were some long fights on the 5# mono, then nice smallmouth and numerous white perch joined in the attack! We fished right up till the final crayfish, leaving only due to rain and distant thunder!
