Why no love for solid black?

Here is what I do...... cut the kip to the length you need, then butt the ends up to the head. Then you aren't having to cover up all those stray butt ends, either. It makes finishing a thread neck a whole lot easier, in my opinion.

:icon14: I do the same and even put a little super glue on the shank (with thread lied down first) before placing and tying in the kip. Do this on most of the hair jigs I tie.

Thanks for the tips guys.I might have to try some super glue too.I used to just butt the ends up against the head also but found some of the hair would pull out after a few fish or after the jig dried and was going to use it again.I was using a magnifying glass to look at the heads needing trimmed .

I fish a lot of all black for bluegills!

Same here. Solid red is my #1 gill color, but black is #2.
