Tied this craft fur jig over the weekend for the brutish white bass of the Tennessee River. If a striped bass should hit it, well then, I'd better be living right. ;)

Its tail is made from red leather. Though thicker, I have some off-white and purple-colored leather that I've yet to experiment with.

This jig weighs about 1/4 of an ounce and has a 1/0 bronze hook.

I like that classic looking jig. Will catch them for sure.Maybe the bass's great grandfathers got nabbed by that jig years and years ago.

That's a great jig! You will love the way the red tail looks wet and moving in the water. I have made some similar with fuller kip tail as a body and xtra long rabbit out the back end. Gives both contrast in color and action. :icon14: :icon14:

Thanks JJ1 and AF. :)

I do plan to tie several more of these. Read a very good article on white bass fishing that seemed to make a good deal of sense to me. It recommended 1/4-ounce jigs specifically for deep areas below dams. Then, suddenly, the  occurred to me. ;)

Do believe that will do the job on about any fish . Couldn't ask for a better job . Give it a work out the weather is under 100 degrees now fish ought to be a little more frisky .
