PB...Can I get wool directly from Red? I went on the website you put in your reply, and I see the 'Wool roving' on there. Is that what red uses, or does he use raw wool? I would like to use the same thing he uses. IF I need to contact Red to get some from him, I'd be happy to pay him for his wool...
Thanks :D

Talking with Red he uses several different kinds but does prefer raw wool. The rabbit lavender company has been good for me.

ok, looks good. I just did a search and hobby lobby has roving wool, for $1.99 for a piece of black and one of white. Looks like 1/2 oz...I'll check that out.

JoAnn fabric has wool roving. It's not in most stores; has to be ordered over the internet.

Just back in from a few hours fishing with the wool jigs, only a few short daily trips lately(ice out hadn't quite happened as early as last Sunday!) has now yielded a total of 85 rainbows& brookies. I tend to tie these jigs, cause they're lighter 1/40 oz tin alloy (Hawn's) heads, with even less wool than Red does as shown above -just a bare pinch. And found a "goldfish" colored satin at JoAnn's for the winging that trout are going bonkers over!

Michaels in Indy has Dimensions Feltworks Wool Roving in 0.25-oz. packages. Sells for around two dollars a package, I believe.

Purchased a nice two-toned olive for bass jigs very recently.
