Talking with Red.......not enough time for internet! Red wants to fish. Picked a few up off Red. Red advised to take a couple pics and post to help everyone.

Breaking this down. My wool pinch is way to large. Red has a very small pinch and uses both sides of the 2x2 piece of material. Both dull and shine side! Overall jig is much smaller. I have to much time invested in each!

I take it the top pic is Reds??? If so most of his satin is situated towards the bottom of the jig, based on the pic. I got the wool about right but mine is different than Reds. If I have the pics wrong let me know!!!!!!!

Recon at JoAnns.....there is a crystal like strand in Red's jigs. Found the material. Will post soon. Red's lateral line has this material. Will have to take more pics because the above do not give it justice. I have not seen anyone post with the material. Will try to also remember the name of material.

Plate, Was talking with Red at his home the other day, and he LOVES that you've posted proper wool basing for jigs! I think the crystal material that you mention is "pearlized Sheer" which yields a very fishlike,"scaly" blue/green flash -neither us will tie a jig without it (I use a few strands,Red prefers a LOT !). Tho sneaky ole Red has several other shiny strand materials that he often innovates with!

PB good looking jigs now once you get every thing ironed out may be try one on the RM head. Have yet to get my sheep skin that I was promised. When I do I will get some tied. Want to do some in Black as that is the jig color that is hot on the lake right now. If it is decent out tomorrow morning I am headed out to try to put a hurt on the crappie population.

Sounds good - post a pic of it with the name please. The folks at my local store don't seem to be able to find anything without a name!!!!!!

www.lavender-rabbit.com. Like yellow, pink, orange, blue, lemon, (standard color for red is the white colors). You only need a pinch of wool. Also been using them for my flank jigs bodies. purchase the 1oz packages and that is going to be enough to last a LONG time. Phone number is 4253920952.
Talking with red he gets majority from a meat locker where sheep are slaughter in his local area. Washes with dawn soap let's it dry and time to tie!
