I fished with Sonny for six days at Lake Perris and caught several PB gills over 11" including this one, just a couple meals away from 12" long that had a girth of close to 16", over 2 lbs. I was using duck jigs tied on #4 Orient Sun jig hooks. These hooks are super sharp and had no issue with bend outs despite the thin wire. Thanks Sonny, I had a great time.  View attachment 8View attachment 9View attachment 1

Nice!

I was using a Flash Duck jig for awhile yesterday, and was catching all sorts of fish on it.

2lb bluegill..... wow! Glad to see they are still growing them big out there. Haven't seen many posts from the left coast lately. Did the lake ever fill back up?

Lake is filled and then some. Lot's of flooded trees which is where the big gills seem to hang out. I lost more than I caught, couldn't keep them out of the timber.

Wow, haven't seen one that size in a very long time. Should have really shook the rod. Congrats!
