I prefer the sickles for crappie, but since I buy heads already poured, I don't have to worry much about quality control. They're already inspected before they get to me. The sharpness and improved hookup ratio is worth it IMHO.
For my steelhead and salmon jigs, I would use the Owners out of the two choices given. They would not be my first choice, though. Strong and sharp, but very 'ownerpriced'. I prefer the Mustad BLNs for lower cost.
I am thinking about starting to pour my own, at least for steelhead. Are the new Eagle Claws heavy wire, and do they fit the same molds as the Mustads?
