Woke up at o'dark thirty yesterday and drove down to some park in the Socialist Republic of Maryland off the Severn River. Fished for about 8 hours out of a boat - started trolling the bay for strippers, err, stripers and got nothing. Neither did any of the other boats I saw. So we went back to pounding the shore lines and ponds formed from inlets of the Severn & scored big.

Stripers (nothing legal, but had a big one one and lost it), blue fish (man they got teeth!), a 18" pickerel, and plenty of white perch. Nice day and slept like a baby last night.

Start of a beautiful day

The forecast called for light winds but a threat of T-Storms after noon. And hot!

As we motored out of Spa Creek, some of the big boats and their babies were docked up.... black boat in the back's for sale - $21 million - such a deal.

We caught a few but the pesky stripers kept taking our offerings!

Caught a 18" pickerel - which I understand is rare for this creek

And lunch was on me - 1/2 pound of pastrami & corned beef & a 1/4 pound of provolone per sandwich. We both ate the whole thing

The perch runs us crazy eating any live bait we try to fish with but they are now getting to a size to fillet :) Nice little boats, may god those things are big!
Enjoyed reading your report and seeing the pictures.

Great pics!!! If you got small stipers like that it looks like you'll be having some great fishing looks real healthy!! Pickeral are fund to catch and if cleaned right are real good eating.

Beetle spin type baits are excellent - wouldn't be without them.

Fatman - you're right. We saw schools of the small stripers boiling. It was insane. Surprised the hit a bait that size too.
