I've never lost one because of a bent hook. I feel that losing a fish is worse than losing a jig.

I'll loose 100 jigs before experiancing the heartbreak of loosing a big fish due to a broken hook.

Also, I'm allergic to penecillian, so rust & me dont get along. One reason I have no problems buying expensive hooks that dont rust easily.

Usually buy Matzuo's for sharing & Gammies for me. Stopped buying owners becaues they rust easily. (I'm in a kayak 90% of the time)

I tied using lite wire hooks and lost good crappie right at the boat from the hook bending, no thanks I'll use good hooks and losing jigs are just a part of crappie fishing.

X2

If releasing fish is your goal, they work great. I prefer to decide if I want to return them once they're in the boat.

I have really loved the mustad 32833 jig hook. very strong very sharp. Had no problem landing an 18 pound steelhead with a size number 1. I do like matzuo sickle hooks(that is all I use for my octopus style hooks and siwash hooks) but when it comes to jig hooks, the wire is too thin and bend way to easy! I fish steelhead though, not crappie. I really really really wish they would make the heavy wire matzuo sickle hooks, but my understanding is they quit making them. Why, I have no idea!!! So for now on(unless they get the heavy wire sickle back) I will be using mustad 32833 hooks.
