Materials:
  • A chrome 1/8-ounce ball head jig with a #2 hook
  • Danville Flymaster Plus Thread (140 denier) - white
  • Gütermann Sparkle Metallic Thread - rainbow black
  • One Zucker Feather Products Schlappen Feather - black
  • One FlyMasters (Wapsi) Schlappen Feather- white
  • Tandy Suede Leather Remnant - off white

Found this chrome jig in my tying box and, at first, did not know what to do with it. Eventually, I came up with what I thought might be a reasonable jig pattern for areas where I don't know much about the species composition.

Now thats gonna move and mesmerize the fishies. Saw a fly tied with a peice of shammy before. When wet it really moves and a great brown color. Excellent jig.. May have to steal thatun!

Jig Man - I've tied a few with pieces of shammy before and found a little glue really helps. It makes great grub bodies!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow!!!! That's a really nice tie Pup!!!!!!!! You have a good link for the Gutermann Sparkle Metallic thread??

FM,

This is the best that I could do.

I purchased this thread at Jo-Ann Fabrics a few years back. Check any big box fabric store that carries Gutermann threads if interested in them.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!! That rainbow black thread underbody with the big wavy schlappen feathers with the leather split tail trailer is going to be a killer in the water!!!! I think the only problem is you won't be able to target a single species of fish with it, anything that swims will eat it, just incredible work and thought!!!!!
