That is some kind of paint job (the paint shines over everything else)

....I was looking pretty much only at the paint! Some mighty fine artwork on the heads. Then, i went back through to look at the rest of the jig and now have to ask, what is the body material used on the 6th picture down with the orange body? Chenille on the 4th pic down also looks really cool! Nice work.

The Chenille in this is It is Heartline Wide 3/4 20MM Frizzle Chenille UV Hot Orange

being the father of three daughters I am familiar with marble painting fingernails. Are you using a water bath and that technique of drops to get this look to your jigs?

kinda what I was thinking too. our I seen a guy using vinyl paint then using a syringe, injecting spots of color then dipping to get the streaked effect. I'm only speculating here, never tried either of those myself.

In anticipation of Jerkin Jaws tutorial, I started looking on you tube and found a couple different ways.
1. Water Bath and nail polish.
2, Starch Solution and acrylic paints.

Since I have oodles of acrylics, I decided to give it a go. Made the starch solution, dripped paint, mixed it with toothpick and got some results but not what I was hoping for.

I then tried nail polish but the results were not good. My nail polish sinks thru the water.

Still waiting on the tutorial but go some rainy days coming up and will have more time to experiment.

there are certain brands of nail polish that float real well. I had to watch a pile of youtube videos with the two little daughters and figure out what brands we could use. Once you figure that out and get going it takes no time on fingernails. I would think on a jig head the turn around time would be very small. I have some white PP heads might give it a try

Yes that is exactly where I got the idea from. Amazing where you can get inspiration from. I watched the same videos I will get a tutorial up hopefully by Sunday. The key is getting it to float and certain polishes will float and certain ones don't.

Those look nice. What brand of nail polish is that? I am having trouble getting the top and bottom of the jig to take the color polish in a single application.

My daughter (11yrs old) is dying to try this on her nails. haha. Never seen the technique until you posted this. Showed her the video a week ago and we are out of masking tape. She put it on our shopping list in rather large letters. :)
