And there's peace at home

After 4 years, my son graduated WVU with a double major in forensics & with honors.  I made a promise if he kept his grades up, we'd give him full ride.  The most expensive promise I've ever made, but fortunately we planned for this since he was knee high to a grass hopper.

To say we're proud's an understatement, but I'd never tell him because his head would swell to much lol

But for the past two weeks, I've had relatives fly in from the left (CA) coast, and others show up with their dogs and some of my son's friends staying over.  It's been crazy.  At one point I had 9 people and  3 dogs.  My dog is not very social with other dogs, so he's start barking - which caused the others to bark, which was nerve racking to say the least.  And with all those college kids in the house, I couldn't keep the frig stocked with beer or snacks stocked.

The last visitor left yesterday, with the last dog, and we now have peace.

And I have a few bucks extra in my wallet now.

Sounds like time to give yourself a bonus....... new fishing rod maybe? Congrats on his accomplishment and you also deserve a round of applause for helping him through. I made the same deal with my 2 kids and have socked away money for it since they were still in diapers. I doubt what ever i have saved will ever be enough, but will find someway to make it work.

.....9 people and 3 dogs...... don't know how long i would last.

Congrats to your son!!!!!! Hope he's not like a lot of the grads who have trouble finding jobs.

Did the same thing with my daughter for her first 2 years and then she wanted to do the last 2 yrs on her own. But the wife is back taking the last of her courses for her Masters Degree so I've got bills for 2!!! It helps that her job picks up part of the cost but man those books are EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!

Congrats on the raise and the graduate! After all the "excitement" you'll probably sleep for a week or at least need a nice quiet fishing trip. Did you also tell him that it's now time for him to start supporting you? :D :D

Mentioned new truck & jet boat but wife countered with Turqs and Caicos. Guess we still need to talk some more

Fortunately he has one. They came looking for his & made him an offer he couldn't refuse ;-) All he has to do now is get through the clearances

Wife said if I cook tonight & run the smoker on Sunday I can fish on Sat & Mon - that's enough rest for me. And son's response to supporting me was "Yeah right" and then proceeded to drink my beer - ungrateful little f'r LoL
