I just made some hot sauce by pulping some Hawaiian hots which appear to be a bird pepper like the pequin, and even without the seeds the heat is beyond my comfort level. So, what do you pepper lovers do with super hots like ghost peppers?

"Hookup", how big is a "postage stamp" lot? Our rural subdivision house lot is only 8,100 sq. ft.

Those black razzies look tasty tho I've never had one. We only have thimbleberries in our area - they don't compete well with taller weed growth so can only get a few at at time.

Just a quick update this year I grew 10 cucumber plants and 30 tomato plants and 27 peppers sweet and hot. This doesn't count the onions, cabbage, beets and turnips. Yes I have done a lot of canning this year already. 24 pints of pickles dill and sweet. Tomatoes are just starting to turn red and I will have to start canning them shortly and want to dill some okra as it is starting to come on now. Have been eating sweet corn for about a week and will try freezing some as I am getting tired of eating it for now. Some jelly off the cob is in the works. May even try some jalapeno jelly this year. Split a half a cord of wood for winter and restacked the wood from the yard into the wood shed.

Now at least part of the fall prep work is done. You all know that's why I have not been very active here the last month or so. Still around just have been very busy.

Hey Fatman That's the plan the more I get done now the more fishing later. And yes with the way that the economy looks the more it looks like we are going to have to depend on Mother Nature's grocery store. Good thing that I like to eat fish and have a good supply of oil , flour ,corn meal, and spice. We are laying in all the supplies we can for the up coming year as we feel it might be a rough one.

BTW the wife has been right in predicting how bad the winters will be these last 8 years. Her prediction for this next winter is that the coldest temp will be in Dec. and Jan. February the temps will moderate and it will be a dry Feb. and March. She told me not to split that much more wood and don't stack it too high. That equals good crappie fishing this fall and a good winter season as well. Might be a very good Duck season this year. Might even get to put a goose in the freezer.

I'd keep the wood part going it only takes one bad storm to use up alot!!!!!!!! and if the birds come in you'll hve lots of tying materials.
