I've set up one spinning rod like a casting rod, after first two guides larger guides and I liked the outcome. It wasn't quite the "concept placement." When I get a new blank I want to try the concept though.
The micro guides on the tip section of the rod will greatly enhance the sensitivity also. They take all the weight from the larger running guides off the tip section. I have used the micro's on all the rods I have built for the last six years. They are the way to go.
I've built a couple with micro's - usually use #6 or #7 fly guides instead when I want to go that small. Problem with micros & me is they are to dang small to thread for my old eyes - and I still refuse to wear glasses when I fish.
