Hilts makes a custom replica mold that uses rubber inserts. The mold costs $70 but you can buy extra inserts for different lures. The extras are only $20 so it would be cheaper after the initial investment. If you want a custom mold, that is probably the best option.
Shoemoo.....with you there on hilts molds. I use there shad darts. Great molds. I am trying to make the mold for a production run. Could be a last resort
I agree with talking to Jacobs - just picked up 2 of his molds and they seem to be quality work and the price is phenomenal for what you are getting. His turnaround is very fast also. Hoping he gets into making more.
The quality of Do-it molds (IMO & sorry to say) has gone to crap. Usually happens when your the only game in town - don't like, don't buy it.... The last couple of "brand new" molds I've got from them have been real turds.
Has anyone bought a new Hilt's recently? The web site is up but they have a pic of a mold that says New for 2005....
Your better off buying an old used Do-It than a new one . That is all I buy now . There used to be color codes on the handles , orange ,green , blue , black- black being the best for production . now the molds have all black handles and are the quality of the orange or blue . So far rick Jacobs is the only one who has listened .
Rick jacobs bait! responded this morning......more ideas pouring in than he can keep up with. I suggest for him to please call. I am striking out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is the problem , Too much work coming in for those who will work . Don't know how old you are but if your under 50 go take CNC classes at a vo tech . you'll never have to be unemployed again . It is the going thing these days .
