The fishing near my home is less than stellar right now at both sites where I like to field test. I will post pictures as soon as I catch something worth snapping a picture of and if I have the opportunity to use my camera without stressing the fish. :jig: :bigfish:
Thin leather definitely helps the action of the jigs. Most pieces that I use are less than 3-ounce leathers. My off-whites may be 4 ounce. Sometimes, their thickness can be offset by how worn the leather is...much like a broken-in baseball glove.
Though, it's best to have a broken-in, low-weight leather for tying a curly tail jig.
