More for the jig boxes.

These are tied on 1/8-oz. ball head jigs with #2 bronze hooks. Their leather is quite supple. I look forward to testing them in the coming weeks. Maybe a dozen more to tie, then it's off to designing and then tying my version of a brush hog.

Can't wait to see the Brush Hogs.My buddy in Arizona lived by them in the tournament circle and did quite well.Myself,I just could never get confident in anything that looked like a Grub.Maybe there were no grubs in Arizona.

Let us know how they work in the water!!! The way you use leather is amazing, but I would imagine you would need a thin piece of leather in order for it to have any movement in the water.

Good looking jigs err grubs err lures yes lures. Hope they work well for you. Before I left Iowa I bought 600 grubs from Berkley Fisherman's Factory Outlet Store. So don't think that I will ever run out of grubs. The color that seems to work down here is one that they call Christmas Lights. Green with a touch of yellow and red in them. Like to cast them on a 1/8 oz. Pony head with a Hammered Colorado blade. The other one that does good at time is the all white. Thinking of using Sharpie pens to decorate a few up to see if it makes any difference.

Keep us informed, interesting.

Another great set of your leather jigs. I'm looking forward to reading the reports from your jigs you have tied this summer :):) Nice work Pup.

Thank you for your comments Everyone. :)

The fishing near my home is less than stellar right now at both sites where I like to field test. I will post pictures as soon as I catch something worth snapping a picture of and if I have the opportunity to use my camera without stressing the fish. :jig: :bigfish:

Thin leather definitely helps the action of the jigs. Most pieces that I use are less than 3-ounce leathers. My off-whites may be 4 ounce. Sometimes, their thickness can be offset by how worn the leather is...much like a broken-in baseball glove.

Though, it's best to have a broken-in, low-weight leather for tying a curly tail jig. ;)
