Thanks for posting. Awesome Brazilian biodiversity is second to none. Closest I'll ever get to that experience is watching River Monsters.

Friends, first I send chroming the jig heads. After I use varnish used for glass. Two or three layers.
Sorry for my english, but the important thing is to communicate!

Is it the chrome powder paint, or chrome electroplating? I was under the impression the chrome PP does not have quite the same reflective properties as real chroming.

While it's possible to do chrome electroplating at home, it's a different process than powder painting and a LOT more difficult and expensive.

Sounds to me like he has them sent away to be chrome plated then uses varnish to keep the finish looking good once they are tied and dressed. They sure look chrome plated to me.... have never seen powder paint that looked that good. All of them look outstanding!

Don't worry about the English - we will get it figured out!

That depends on the economical environment you´re in - if you live in a low-wage country with affordable, skilled electroplating craftmanship at hand - that might even be cheaper than importing fancy powder paint from the US. And the resulting product speaks for itself. :icon14:

There is a powder paint that uses nano technology . It will give you a chrome effect . However I have to buy 500 kilo to get it . Flavio has probably worked out the best way to do it .

Can´t you ask them for a recomondation list of resellers? Or ask a reseller to stock it?

So Cal I.E.
Check out caswellplating.com - home kits are feasible. Although not real expensive - the cost could be off set by the end result.

I think CA had some UL jigs that were plated..

The lacquer finish that Flavio is using is the trick. To stand up to that kind of fishing!!!! Not sure if the translucent powder paints are that tough.

Hello friends!
The jigs are chromed. They are not painted.
  I paid about $ 1.00 per piece.
To color them I use varnish for glass.
Tomorrow, I'll chroming some grave digger jigs. Then I will show the results.
hugs
