I decided to put this pic up of my "electric gill" spinnerbait pattern, it is the best picture I could get that shows the colors but they still look mashed together and I don't think I can solve the bad pic until I get a new camera but until then this pic is the best I can do. BTW it has Dragonfly on the head and junbug on the back.

That is absolutely fantastic. No need for a new camera that guy might swim away before you get another pic. Great job on that bait.

excellent paint job. All powder?

Thanks guys but it still looks better in person, I don't like the picture but it is the best pic I got that will give you an idea of the different color.

Makokeith, yes it is all powder with the exception of the small black stripes, they were done with a black paint stick and then blotted with a tissue to give it a translucent effect and then baked in during the cure.

would love to see a vid of that being done. Outstanding!!!! is it done with airbrush??

Thank you all for the kind words. GTF, I use a hobby sandblaster to spray the powder paint, it looks like a cheap airbrush. The one I have is a model 260 Badger and by the looks of the powder paint spray gun TJ's Tackle, Barlows, and all the other suppliers are selling I would think it is the same. The problem with spraying powder is you can't make detail, it is impossible to do fine lines but it does a great job of blending colors and lets you do fading effects from one color to the next so you can get some lures that look good and all it takes is practice and an imagination. One thing I will say is that if you mess with compressor setting you can do more, the spinnerbait head in the pic really isn't a good picture but it was the best I could do with my skill and camera. Anyway, I turn the compressor up to do the body so the powder comes out in a fine mist, when I'm done with the first body coat it looks like a freshly poured bait but insted of it being shiny silver it looks as if the lead was blue and that is because of the ultra fine coat and then to do the red throat or the back where you don't want the over spray you turn down the compressor but you only do quick little burst because the powder will come out heavier so you need to learn what the setting do as far as the powder flow but you can do a lot with it.

Thank you for the kind words Cadman, i'm really interested in the skirt material, I never heard of dragon fly but that would be perfect since I used the dragon fly powder paint on the head of the bait.
