I'll give you this one Rad!!! Don't even know why Caribou Maine is listed, they get the snow and stuff just like we do in Vermont!! And Fargo?? - the AF Base at Minot is further out then them and in the boonies! Hey Winter gets cold why should they get put up for toughest weather city?? And Alaska, look at the map folks!!

Really makes you wonder why some of these places get picked.

Rad any one knows that Lubbock has the greater extremes. Cold and snow in the winter, blazing heat in the summer. And right in the middle of tornado alley . Not to mention the dust storms that you get. Hands down Lubbock, Texas.

4 am this morning Doug.........I still dont think its THAT bad here, but apparently the rest of the country does.
:beat-up:

We started on March 19, 2013 with 64 cities. After over a quarter million total votes, we've crowned a champion.

By a roughly 2:1 margin, Lubbock, Texas knocked out Fairbanks, Alaska to win the title as 2013 America's Toughest Weather City.

Not a big fan of hot summers but get by... don't mind the cold... don't mind the rain... don't mind the snow...

You throw in a stiff wind and it just makes everything miserable.

BTW - Still think you are just a whiner - :D

Aside from its notoriety for weather...

Isn't Lubbock the home of the greatest basketball coach of all time? :D

I enjoyed watching a recent Applebee's commercial featuring him and Digger Phelps. Shot in Lubbuck, maybe? ;)

I'm surprised that one of his players never knocked him on his ass!!!!!!!!! There's a BIG difference between a coach and a bully!!!! and I really don't care what his record was.

General-ly, people do have strong opinions about him. ;)

Actually, I thought that I might be stirring the pot slightly over who the "greatest basketball coach" is/was (i.e. Wooden, Iba, Rupp, et al)...whoops...didn't expect this. I'd forgotten what a polarizing figure he could be.

Am I the only one here that thinks of Lubbock as the home of Buddy Holly. The great of Rock and Roll the one and only. Say what you will about Elvis but Buddy was the the real king.
