At the price that Ed Staton is selling them for,you would have trouble finding flat eyes that would cost or look any better then his. They catch a lot of big FISHERMEN,Trophies, sorta speak, lol.BLT,he has every big size that we both use.The gold eyes are exactly like a live bunker.

I will check them out for sure. It's the larger Fluke balls that are a challenge to find the right size eyes for.

I don't know about you guys but I've gotten 3d eyes from Ed Staton, and they just barely stick to my painted jigs. When I go to epoxy the eyes for a clear coat they move on me. Has anyone ever had this problem. I love his eyes but the glue just doesn't stick. I was very disappointed. Now I've bought 3d eyes fron WTP, and when you put them on they don't move around.

Cadman and others.I don't care what eyes you buy, they are not made with the proper glue to make them sticky enough to stay on.Get you some arrow fletching glue and put enough to cover the bottom of the eye socket, just barely.Stick the eye in there and push down,The fletching glue won' turm cloudy around your eye if you put too much in there.Try it! I have bought expensive eyes, cheap eyes, they are all the same to me.Some stick decent, some go through the water for 5 cast then fall off.

Is the general opinion here that the 3-d eyes catch more fish, or they just look better. This is probably like going to a car forum and asking what oil is best for your engine lol.
Sound like a good poll to put up.
You nailed it blt...They do look better, but I will say say I catch as many on a plain unpainted,no eyes head as I catch on some of my other(fancy) ties...

I think some times the holographic eyes MAY help is if the light is hitting them right, and the fish catches a peek at that sparkle/glimmer, it will strike. Kind of like using flash.
I sell a lot of 1/4 and 3/8oz. shad head jigs that only have a dot of blaze orange for the eye, and my larger pop-eye jigs get the same treatment. I think that bright orange will attract their attention, but they don't see the eye "as an eye".
I also know people that out fish me (not hard to do lol) with unpainted jigs.

If you make a lot of jigs, stick on eyes are more trouble than they are worth IMHO. You have to get them off the sheet and onto the head without losing them, then seal or glue them in place. If you only make small amounts, they do look nice.

I have a few heads with eye sockets, but on standard heads I don't bother.
