Some Huge Bluegill

I went fishing with a buddy in his farm pond. He had been bragging about the size of the bluegill in his pond. He was right.

I like frying bluegill whole but not these suckers. I filleted them like I would a crappie.

Wow, what a feast! One of those would make me a meal.

Is that a natural pond - doesn't look like the usual dug out bowl?

I don't see a jig under the float?

WOW!! Those are some absolute Hogs! Makes me really miss the lake on the farm where I grew up. It was full of monster gills like that.

WOW those are big gill. What I would give to catch a few of them on a fly rod!!!!!!! Congrats on the catch and day of fishing the pond:):)

Those are some outstanding sized gills...... and some many big ones from the same pond is pretty amazing.

This was the first time I'd even seen gills like those. On ultralite spinning gear, when them suckers turned sideways, all you could do was hang on.

Really nice bluegills. How long was the biggest one ? Did you weigh any? I've been fishing with Sonny for several days and havn't caught any looking like those. Days like that don't come along very often.
