Jiggerjohn ' s pendulum rig has been keeping me busy. Thank god because ice fishing has been a big let down again this year.
These videos were taken in my little aquarium test tank. I have taken JJ's idea and expanded a little on it. One of my favorite ways to catch crappie has been to troll crankbaits for them. This rig will not only allow trolling but permit to swimming a circle while still fishing or casting and cranking from a stationary position. I envision using a soft action 8-10 foot rod with this rig and about a 1-1 1/2 mph speed. Reason I like the crankbait system is because of size of the crappie. Normally I hate trolling but I do like this system just for crappie.
The second video is a neutral buoyant jig that this rig permits to always be in best position to catch fish. That is with the hook pointing up. Here I will use a 5 1/2 to 6 foot rod with ultralight action. Note how minnow always remains upright. TO SEE VIDEO JUST CLICK ON PIX
