I was looking forward to buying some more of that neat kaktus chenille when I visited my parents last week, but it seems Wholesale Sports sold their US stores back to Sportsman's Warehouse a few months ago. I stopped by three of their old stores and couldn't find any of it.

The trip wasn't a total loss, though. All the fly tying materials WS carried that SW doesn't stock was a whopping 50-75% off on top of already discounted prices. It was amazing. I cleaned out their supply of rabbit strips at $0.50 per pack (bought over 150!) Squirrel and calf tails were $.70 each, prime marabou and schlappen feathers for $1 a bag, BIG bags of mallard flank feathers for $0.50... And that's just the stuff I bought. They had feathers and deer hair patches in every color you could imagine for $0.25-$0.50 per bag, ostrich plumes and bucktails for $1, pheasant skins for under $5, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

If you had one in your area, it's worth making a special trip to check it out. Sucks about the chenille, though. I still haven't been able to find anything quite like it.
