whats the strangiest thing you have ever tied with???

If you can find the skins or tails they make nice jigs and flies. Raccoon is one animal that I don't like to deal with as roadkill. They always seem to have lots of bugs. Lately most that I've seen are so mangled that it's not even worth stopping.

I have 2 cats, 1 is a very large orange and white cat named Morris. My wife brushes him about once a week and one time she didn't brush him for almost a month, he really doesn't need it as he is a short hair cat but it was late spring and he was starting to shed his winter coat and she got a big ball of fur off of him and, well, I had to try it out. It really wasn't good for a full jig but it worked really well as dubbing.

About as weird az I have gotten is those Koosh balls.... the ones with about 300 little tentacles poking out of them. Pain in the butt to get on right, but worth it.

Never got to try any of it but one of the guys over on Fly tying forum was a wildlife rehabilitator and had a siberian tiger that after he brushed her used the underfur for dubbing. Absolutely beautiful animal!!! and made for some really cool flies!!! The link below will show you Kisa the tiger with Hans!!!!

Ahh, to embarrased to say.

But I will say, my cocker spaniel (RIP) use to grow a beard on his tail. I'd snip that & use it as a tail with crosscut rabbit hair as the body.

The red strip off the pack of Lucky Strike cigarette's. My best dubbing was from a couple of pairs of pants that I used to own that I would wash and dry together. Today I use the tear strip off a cheese package that is made locally.
