those should work, that fox song is weird.....
Those are nice looking jigs... pretty sure both would catch crappie in my lakes. Those long tails will get nipped at by the bluegill and possibly become annoying, but crappie will have no problem swallowing 'em whole.

Fox is my favorite hair to tie with. It is very effective on bass, crappie and trout. Same action as marabou, but a lot more durable and you don't end up throwing out 1/3rd of the pack.
If you want to reduce the length without cutting, after you remove the clump from the hide grab the clump by the butts and use your other hand to pull out the hairs that are too long.
