I think that you should ask for more. At $7 that only $1.17 each. Come on Bruce Think that they would sell in a Bait Shop or Tackle store at $3.00 each. And they wouldn't be tied nearly that well. They would be tied on cheap hooks and no custom paint job. Don't sell your self short old friend. Your worth more than that. I figure that one of my 1/4 oz. walleye jigs are worth $2.50 each. NO ONE TIES LIKE US ANY MORE.

Well, how much are your materials, how long does it take you to make them, and how much do you want to make per hour? Then add any necessary taxes and you'll have your answer.

Say your materials cost $0.50, taxes are $0.25 and it takes a total of five minutes to pour, paint and tie each jig. You would make less than $6 an hour. You'd be making more standing behind the counter at McDonald's asking people if they wanted fries with that. It doesn't even count the cost of your tools and the time you spent obtaining the materials.

Bruce if you have $.75 in them then you should ask $4.00 apiece for them. Cost x a factor of 5 rounded to the next full dollar. Just don't sell your self short. People will pay for custom made fishing tackle.

I agree with Redman. People will pay more IF you tell them why they should. Emphasize the quality hooks, tough paint that won't chip, and custom color combos.

I remember when the first titanium shaft spinnerbaits came out. They cost about five times more than the average spinnerbait. People still bought them like mad, because they didn't bend out of alignment like spinnerbaits with steel shafts.

Try out $4 and see how it goes. You can always drop your prices later, but people are more resistant to raising prices than lowering prices.

You have an ultra minnow mold, don't you? In my experience, people will pay more for shaped heads than round heads. Might be worth pouring up some of those.

Bruce your a good tier and your jigs command top dollar. People can go and get mass produced jigs by the bushel basket. But the custom made tried and true producing jig you can not afford to be without at any price. Heck I use to pay $15 a piece for muskie lures. That was back in the 1990's

The shops I deal with are mostly made up of hand tied jigs by guys like me. As far as ultra minnows, A lot of shops carry the Spro brand. Not a bad jig at all.

I think people go to these flea markets to look for deals. Don't rob yourself, but don't scare away people either lol. I was selling 2oz. minnows for $2.50 at a flea market and that is a good price for the buyer. 4 oz. minnows I was getting $3.00 for, both are about a buck to $1.25 cheaper than the shops get. Heck, I sell "6 packs" of 1/2 and 3/4 oz. jigs to some shops, and they sell them for 6 something a pack of 6. You just want to keep them a little cheaper than they can get at a shop.

At 1 oz., I would put $1.75 on them and I'll bet they sell fast at that. Powder coated and baked so they are chip resistant. Point out the 3d eyes also, and during conversation with them, mention how you could go cheaper with the eyes, but they don't hit the standards you are looking for.

Remember what I told you before, it seems like prices in NJ for tackle are a lot higher than De., so I think you will not have issues at $1.75. Remember to bring a lot of change, and $1 bills. Seems like everyone wants to buy something for $1.50 and hand you a 20 lol.

Ok,ok.No more laughing.I seperated some bare roundheads 4 to a pack, now my box of jigs and things weighs about 30 pounds, lol.I'm hoping that a baitshop guy just walks over and buys everything at once,so I can go fishing while I'm there.

Double duty - sounds good to me!!!

Selling those at 1.20 is highway robbery........ you are the victim! BLT has some good info but i think i would still add a quarter and sell them for $2 a pop - less quarters to take wih you - you will be hauling in enough weight with those heads and don't need any additional weight from the quarters. :P

Now, i just want to know if you actually make a profit and don't blow the $$$ on something else before you leave the flea market. That would be my downfall.

I hope that nobody is selling a Shimano Bait Runner, lol.

Do you have a tackle shop you deal with a lot down there? One that knows you? See if you can work out a trade for the bait runner.
