Chairman of Nestle, the worlds largest food producer, Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, believes that “access to water is not a public right.”

So, apparently Nestle has a track record of obtaining ground water rights and depleting aquifers for their bottled water business. Ask Barney about Canada and India examples if interested.

I've read rumors about deep pocket corps obtaining water rights in the USA but haven't had time to research. Would appreciate anyone with this knowledge sharing.

I was watching a show about old money oil guys and the man that they were interviewing made the comment that water rights would be the next thing to buy up. He said everyone needs water and if you own it everyone would have to buy from you. That was around 10 years ago when I watched the show, guess he knew what he was talking about.
