Just got back from the bank. As I was leaving a woman was trying to unlock her car and could not. Being some chivalrous I offered to help.

Lock was not frozen, engine was running and her FOB would not unlock the door and would not unlock any of the four doors. Some kinda safety feature that prevents doors from being unlocked with the engine running.

I gave her a lift back to her office a couple blocks away,

Anyhow, with the cold snap many are exeriencing, if you are like me and in the habit of letting your car warm or run when stopping in somewhere for a quick errand. Be sure your key will unlock the car if the engine is running.

Id get rid of that car lol. Ive heard of safety features that wont let you lock the door if the vehicle is running unless you manually push the lock. But not being able to unlock a door with a key should not be a feature. That sounds like a lawsuit waiting to happen these days. A kid or a dog could lock the door while inside.

No doubt. How can you not????? I got a striped down, new (to me) Chevy Cobalt a little over a year ago and asked soooooo many stupid questions about the car that i think the salesman was questioning selling me the car. That's not good when the salesman questions the deal. Ha!!! No auto nothing on my vehicle though. The little teeny weeny tiny battery with ONLY a positive post had a couple of questions and MUCH researching. :P
