Finally decided to give the the gummy minnow a try. Bum ankle after rolling in front yard has me slowed up for a bit and I am B-O-R-E-D .

So last night I begin search for materials. Find place after extensive search and carefully figure out order which came out to a little more than 60 bucks.

First thing this AM get a phone call. 60 % of what I ordered is out of stock. He wanted to know if I wanted to split order or wait for backorder to ship at all once.

I don't want to mention this company's name as it s the first time I have ordered from them. But how hard could it be to use software that informs customers when they go to order it that you are out of whatever at the present moment. Say like Cabelas or Fish USA. I will never commit to back ordering stuff as it can tie your money up for long time. So I just cancelled entire order.

One company I ordered some ice fishing stuff few years back. About 15 days of waiting I call the guy to see if my stuff has been shipped yet .He informed me since all his stuff was custom made by him. His reply was I should know that it would take a long time. I expressed that nowhere on his site did he state any mention of any kind of delay. Asked for refund and received it.

I don't understand someone who is trying to be a success being ignorant of seasonal demands. I mean even a kid running a lemonade stand realizes if the pitcher is dry he is not going to be making any more money.

Everyone realizes that there will be occasional foul ups in inventory. But if companies who like being in business want to be a success. They should have some way to alert customer that they don't have it so customer does not waste time and filling out long windy shipping orders.

Ok rant over we will now return you to our regular programming.

X2 Buddy!!!!!!!!!!!

Trying to get my local fly shop to carry more materials for tying jigs/or colors of materials to tie jigs. He doesn't want to incur the expense!!! BUT!!! He started carrying spinning rods and reels, although some of them are cheap!!!!!!!! Sorry but any color of jig tying material can be used in fly tying but truth be told there are ALOT of fly fishing snobs out there!!!!!! Saw the movie now they're experts. Use the wrong brand of rod OH OH!!!!!LOL

That's why I always CALL my orders in!!! But took a chance with the money I save at GB's. Now we'll see how it goes!!! I'm probably one of the worst on this but doesn't matter who it is should have the order picked and boxed and know what isn't there within 3 days at most. I always try to shoot my business to the smaller places but they have to show me they'll kick it like the heavies.

I called in an order to Columbia coatings for powder this morning - the guy changed how it was going to ship and saved me some money there and only one of the colors from a sample pack was to be backordered and that one will ship within 3 days, and he packed and sent the rest of it today - so hope to have it by Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay Gents and ladies as you all know I have been tying and buying since about the early 1960's. We complain about not getting what we want today when we ordered it yesterday. This not being in stock and that back ordered.

Gosh I remember when you had to hand write out a order. A long distant telephone call cost serious money at least 1/4 the cost of a big order. Postage came one way USPS and it was snail mail. A box sent in Minnesota took TEN Days to get to Iowa. Companies had the upper hand as there were only two or three mail order houses it was buy from us or them we really don't care. They also had the attitude you will take what we send you and be happy. Nothing was ever back ordered it was order it next month and if we have it we will ship it to you. Refunds dream on it was a act of God Almighty to get any money back for any reason.

No my friends we have it good today. Yesterday I received a phone call from one of my suppliers telling me that my order was delayed for another week. Unbelievable by yesterdays standards but today it's common practice. Computers, toll free numbers, cell phones, and smart phones has made life so easy. We are SPOILED plain and simple. I for one am thankful for what we have today and hope we never lose it. I guess living thud the bad days has given me a appreciation of what we have today.
