Off for the summer, gonna be working on tying. this next week, ill be going up to north central Texas on the colorado river for family reunion and some excellent fishing. i'll try my hand at carp on the fly, catfishing, general fly fishing, and maybe even some noodling. this year will be the first year i will be using my own ties there, and am taking a litlle bit of my setup with me. hopefully there will be enough water to fish! I cant thank you all ebough for the help, as this summer is gonna be a year since i joined!

Out here...
Yea, hope you have a good trip... And the river has plenty of water in it, but most of the lakes are still low.

Good luck on your adventure. Hope you catch some fish and know you will have a good time even if you don't find the fish. That is just how family get togethers work out.

Flat out jigs (no bait) will work well if you know how to work them. Tipping them with a small chunk of worm might help for the confidence of friends and family.

thanks AF. I have some mealworms i got from my cousin that i will bring just in case. We will be leaving early sunday or we may leave saturday, go to a family members house, and then leave from there. we have yet to go to walmart or academy, so once we go to one of those, i will but myself a cheap fly rod. maybe the tip from that will fit in my broken pole? if not i get a new rod, and i can sell the reel it comes with!

I'll definitely watch out for snakes! the past few years they have been bad near the cold water spilloff from the spring
