Upgrade

Well, the software upgrade finally pushed through today after only a few hiccups.  I also added a new default avatar that fit the theme of the site.  Decorated up the logo for the season.  Some of the default style settings have changed with the upgrade and i tried to manipulate a few so it resembled the old site a little better.... still a few i want to adjust.   Looks like there are some other new features as well in the post thread page and control panels, so hopefully the learning curve won't be too tough.  Most of the changes are there to hopefully make things easier in the long run.

As for the database issue that has been throwing the errors lately, still not sure if that has been completely cured yet.  I do have a support ticket in with the web host though.

I have seen the database error, it comes and goes. Still piecing everything else back together from the upgrade. Looks like Tapatalk is back up and active, or at least both the places that show the status show it as running. Was also having trouble getting the registration to work, but that looks like it is running again as well.

Was doing good when I first got here and then 5 errors in a row. Not complaining, just informing. Looks like you spruced up the place a bit and I didn't know if I was at the right place at first.

Thanks for the Tapatalk reports. Still getting the database errors that i had hoped the upgrade would fix. Have my 2nd email in to the webhost..... they did not respond to my 1st. Not happy with them at the moment, and let them know it.

Fatman - You would not like any of my tying/painting areas if you don't like clutter! Actually, i already have 2 adjustments on my list of things to do. One is to get the header and welcome block (top left corner) a little more fluid. You should see what it looks like from my end with the extra ADMIN menu up there. Not Pretty. The other adjustment is to fix the font size on the general text. I have poked around with the changes, but still need to figure out some of the web coding.

Pepop - You can upload from your PC using the attachments. There are only a couple steps to it, but if you are used to uploading and posting them from an outside image hosting site, that may be easier for you.

Oh.............. forgot i had one more modification i am looking to do. Need to figure out how to force images that are to big for the browser window to fit! That is beyond my coding ability though, hoping to find a pre-made modification.

I was having a lot of issues with various forums having text that was a little too small to read comfortably. I ended up using the tools in my browser to go up to about 125% to increase the size of everything. I have a wide monitor, so no biggie with things looking "scrunched".

I'm using Firefox v42.0 on a Windows 10 platform. Increasing the size is as easy as holding down the CTRL button and slowly scrolling up with the scroll wheel on the mouse.

To add photo to a post direct from your PC

Go to bottom where it says new attachment
click choose file
navigate thru your PC to find the file
select file
then click add attachment, then click insert into post
