Not my video, but I thought it was pretty funny. How many fish do you think look at your bait or jig but either don't commit or miss and never come back? Watch and see.

[video=youtube]

Reminds me of an underwater video I saw once but could never find again. Guy was ice fishing and had a bare jig head with a waxworm on it. A huge bluegill came up and stared at the jig for about 5 minutes. Then it slurped in the head of the jig with the hook and waxie sticking out of its mouth, spit out the jig and swam away.

I warched this very thing happen yesterday - was fishing a small pond - water depth 2-3ft. Dropped a jig in, some of the sunfish/bluegills would swim up - saw the following behavior:

1) Stare and swim away
2) Stare, nip it, swim away
3) Stare, inhale, hold, and spit it out
4) Same as 3, but they held it long enough for me to set the hook

Lol I couldn't sit and watch that if I was fishing! Thats the advantage of tipping with live bait. Buys you extra time for a hook set!

I mostly fish for bass.

Same questions, how many bass haver your bait in their mouths and you don't even know?

The questions that'll baffle sages for eternity.
