A real quick to tye and effective jig that crosses over into fly fishing. The first jig is a 1/80th with a #12 Matzuo sickle hook (Tropical black powder painted) and the second jig pictured in this tutorial is a 1/100th with a #12 VMC jig hook painted with black fingernail polish.

Those look great LedHed. I would have to get stronger reading glasses to tie something that small. LOL I love the tutorials, we can all learn from them. Thanks

I was wondering about fluff ball hackle ties - what applications would these have and how do you present so light a jig?

This style jig is for fishing right off the weed lines or on top of beds. Take for ever to sink because of the dry fly grade hackle. Eventually it gets wet enough so you get good hang time in the sub surface zone. We also fish this jig with "carne" - bait - mostly the small size mealworms.

Was thinking about this one again last night, I wondered what that would look like if tied in both feathers and then wound the first feather in a spiral pattern and tied it off and then wound the black in the space's created when you wound the first feather.

Thinking it would enhance the color bands a bit??

Sorry about the IRK Doc, it was what I was thinking about the other half than paying attention to what I was typing (and when I read it here at work I was like well DUH!!! what the ****. And mainly cause I got in trouble for being sneaky and trying to pour jigs last Saturday - and now she locked my material box's in her closet, she was ticked :beat-up:

I've been having to put a bandage over the op area because of the pants and belt rubbing and when she was taping it on this morning she really got PO'd when she saw bruising around the suture area.

Can't blame her for being worried after everything that's happened this year but jeez - I didn't lift nothin, didn't mis-behave. You'd think I was 10 instead of well old enough LOL.
