Been keeping busy tying jigs for swap and others for experimenting. Can't ice fish due to lack of ice so .

Decided to try cutting Guinea fedders to a V instead of using as is.

I cut like this then size to fit hook. If too sparse for your taste with one V saddle you can add another. I read about this method about 6 months ago and decided to try.

The second one down on the left hand side is one the example cut was used. As you can see not all have the V cut guinea fedders. I even got one with possum hair. Rest with duck flanks. Ordered some 3d eyes off of Lifefly and just had to try some of the freebies he sent. I really like the solid black eyes. Might have to order some of them.

I like that way of tying feathers, I will try that for sure!!!! Those jigs look great too, and I do like the look of the solid black eye, where did you get them?

Saves a lot of feathers from the trash can. I have bags of feathers I save after cutting the tips off and use the V cuts a lot on jigs. All these feathers come in handy while tying flies.
Nice tied jigs :):)

Nice ties! :icon14::icon14: it's good to use more & toss less! I don't think they're sparse at all! They all look fine to me.
