I have a pair of regular hackle pliers (don't use 'em all that much) but have often wondered about the rotary style. Mine are dirt cheap, all metal ones and i end up breaking off the hackle quite a bit which gets upsetting when it is the last step to finish a w.bugger. :-/ May have to try some rubber grip rotary style ones and maybe i will use them more.

Yeah I have been using a small set of hemostats but I've got to tie quite a few W.buggers and W. worms for someone and I thought a rotary would make the whole process easier. We'll see if it does.

The same uses for me just not in large quantities - will be interested to hear how you like the rotary style.
