Was up in Sandusky over the weekend and stopped in to Pat Catan's, one of the larger craft shops in the area.

Found these Wireless Chenille Stems!! $2.99 for a 10 yd card. Size says 12MM. The black in the middle is a standard size medium chenille i had to help show the size. The new stuff i got has white as the core, looks like medium size, and cactus style mixed in that looks to be large size.... or so. 1 is listed is "silver" and the other as "iridescent white". Heck of a deal i think!

Next up is a 49 yd bundle of size 6 super bulky Premier Yarns chenille in "Koala" color. Black is my standard medium to show size again. Cost was $5 and some change.

Last find is a ball of... thread? Not sure what it would even be used for, other than flash material on jigs. :D The extra little flowers are just a bonus i spose. They slide off easy enough. It is a PremierYarns product called Enchant..... color is listed as Dewdrop on the package. Whatever it is, the material reminds me very much of the Baitfish Emulator that Harline makes. Forget what i spent on it, but this ball will most likely last me the rest of my life.

Good looking stuff!!!!!!! Went on the Darice site and they don't even show it!! I'll have to check with JoAnnes fabrics and see if they can order it. Looks like it might be good to have. Do these cards have a stock number on the back??

They did have another color and honestly not even sure why the heck i didn't grab it now that i think of it. :beat-up: It was a white medium with large gold tinsel mixed together. Just should have grabbed it for the heck of it...... at $3! Guess the white/gold mix did not catch my eye? Not sure, but kicking myself now. Next trip up there will grab it. Had it been black/gold, would not have hesitated.

SKU# is 1155-100 for the Ird.White

SKU# is 1155-101 for the Silver

I'm going to keep my eyes open for that Safari yarn. Large, bulky chenilles have great appeal to me. Your pattern could make a great 'chub' body for clear water fishing imo. I'm thinking of an articulated or extended-body jig.

The 'wireless' chenille stems are really neat looking. Will look for those in my area. I found a treasure trove of Darice Bungee Cords at a local Meijer Store recently. Darice makes many interesting items with possible applications to jig tying. Only my imagination limits me.

I'd S-pattern a relatively long strand of that Enchant "around" an upholstery thread in order to create a 'baitfish emulator' skirt. Could draw it tight like a 'laundry bag'. Would separate the loops buy cutting with scissors. Might look pretty cool. Would need a fabric-friendly glue to secure it. The process is tedious, but the result could look very good in the water.

Just thinking 'out loud' here... :)

Thanks for the info on the chenille. I sent an email to Darice and they don't have it on their site yet. She told me that they have other colors so I've asked for the order numbers and a color chart if possible.

I'll let you know what I find out!!
