full boat! last batch was 2 racks. I guess I vary my baking time a little but I use a convection oven. do baking times change with a convection and does the number of jigs you bakes alter the time? I never have found a definitive answer on that.

Thats a beautiful sight there Bucko! :):icon14: Not sure on the baking time question since I just recently started powder coating my jigs and use a toaster oven.

I'm no expert but I believe it's just a matter of consistency. My object is 350 for 15 min. 1 jig or 100, no matter, 350 for 15. Get you a thermometer and check. you'll easily see if a large load alters the temp in the oven. The temp changes when baking food items due to the consistency of the items. Cake, meat, dough, etc absorb the heat. I don't think lead absorbs much. That's just MHO.

Agree with Pepop....I use of lot of Colombia Coating and bake between 375 - 385 for 15 to 20 mins. Does not matter how many you have in the oven. Purchase a small thermometer to confirm readings on oven. I have smaller toaster oven and put in over 100 each time with no issues. I started as a teenager with my uncle painting a long time ago. Did a lot of river fishing for walleyes. Uncles test was at waist height drop the jig on the ground if no paint chipped you were good to go!!

Not all paint fully cures at the same temp/time. It really varies when you cross mix various manufacturer's products. My target temp is 317F and I want at least 20 min cure time ( longer for bigger stuff). I monitor/control my temp from start to finish with a thermocouple and manually adjusting the thermostat - no temperature spike.

Might want to try making a rack with all thread - keeps the jigs from rocking or sliding around.

I recently got a convection oven and I see no difference in the time/heat for jigs.

That is a full rack of jig! Should keep you busy for a while.

Do all my cure in a small toaster oven...... i've been going longer than what i originally would cure (manufacture suggested time) and getting good results. I heat them up slow and wait until i 'think' the actual head might be at my target temp and THEN start the time. Just 'cause the oven says 350 doesn't mean the cookies are at 350 yet. ;)
