Thinning vinyl paint. And other questions

I was wondering if there's something I can get at lowes to thin vinyl paint? I don't feel like driving to bass pro for a 1oz bottle of thinner for $5. Also is there a point where you can't thin them out anymore? I have a big jar that has a hard clump of paint. And one last question, is there anyway to store vinyl paint so it won't thicken up?

I read another forum that says 60%MEK and 40% xylene. Others say MEK but it burns off too fast. I also read to put it in a pot of warm water before mixing, makes sense to me. And to store jars upside down to make them not thicken up as fast.

I only ever had 2 bottles of it a long time ago and had to get rid of it, was giving me wicked headeaches. I switched to powder, I'd also do some with Testor's paint and coat them with epoxy. Then from the guys here I learned about mixing and clear and glitter coats.

I'd wait to see what redear has to say, he uses a lot of it.
