I use the do-it uv seal coat to coat my jigs. Does anyone know how I should go about thinning it? The rest of my 4oz container looks like thick snot and curious if I can thin it? Supposedly water based, so could I with just a little water?

I have read to add just a tiny drop of Acetone (nail polish remover) to a bottle of head cement to thin it some. Never tried it myself though................

I think the product you mention is a CS coatings product. BTW lots of good info in the instructions section on their site. http://www.csipaint.com/instructions/index.php

If so. direct from CS Coatings site

"Paint will appear thick when cold, or before stirred thoroughly. If paint still appears heavy after stirring, thin it sparingly with tap water. If paint is thinned too much, it will lose its ability to cover."

"Each coat will be dry to the touch in about 45 minutes and can then be recoated. Water Base paints can be force-cured by heating to no higher than 130° F. Colors may be top coated with Water Base Clear or, if a “worm-proof” finish is required, our Water Base Epoxy."

After having read that, you may want to set your container of paint in a pan of warm (95-105 degree) water and see if it thins with warmer temp.

Good luck! Also, do you feel these coatings are equal to Hard as nails or comparable to D2T epoxy?

Thanks Kdog. I used a little water, and seemed to work. It is CSCoatings UV jig finish. I havent used it since thinning it. I like the stuff. I used hard as nails and it ate off my fl chart paint. I put eyes on and coat it with this and comes out really good. I like it.
