Tomorrow the high is projected at 8. In 1903 the temp high was 7. Weather man says we could break it. -25 wind chill tonight and negative all day tomorrow.

Open water is a long ways away. The local city is opening up warming centers for those less fortunate. Always blessed for what my family has for living!

Don't tell me 1903.......... the river in the town i worked had their record flood that year in the spring after a long snowy winter and then quick thaw. I don't want to pump the basement this year.

No doubt thankful that i can afford to fill the propane tank and be nice and cozy at home. Then i get the bonehead idea that i need t go and sit out in a little hut on top of a foot of ice just for a few dumb fish. Makes sense don't it.

It's 80dF now where I'm at, but tomorrow flying back home to the 20's. Good news is that the weather man is reporting 50's by Sunday, so picked a good week to visit Dad.

The outside air temperature is 4 degrees F as of an hour behind this posting. Indy is expecting to set a record today for its lowest 'high temperature' on this day.

Seems like extremes everywhere. On the way to throw jigs to trout today in Lake Ogallala, saw a boat out on McConaughy. Cathie back in HI just lost power for 3 days within a year of the last 2 week outage. Previously, there were no damaging storms of that severity in my entire residency in Puna since 1981.

Fantastic pic!!! Cold weather just gives more time to pour jigs! Finished jigs are starting to pile up in the tackle box!
