Liked Bkabina's "Red and black" a lot, so I had to tie one of my own.

Another amazing tie - very cool!!! Bet some steelhead anglers could turn that idea into a nice egg sucking leech pattern with a brightly colored ball head.

Very , very nice. Don't know if it would be improvement or not. Have you ever thought of coloring the bare strip? I doubt it would impress the fish but might make it look even better.

Since I don't fish for bass I don't tie anything this big. But I do tie up similar creatures to be used for big bluegills. So picture something on a 1/64 or 1/80 oz jig head. With a short strip of zonker leather colored black to resemble tiny leech.

That red hackle in back really make that creation sparkle. Might have to incorporate that in my smaller ties as gills just love red.

Papaperch,

I hadn't thought of coloring the bare strip (tail). My camera shot may be playing tricks on some viewers. The tail is pretty black actually. My incandescent light, shining over the smooth pebbled surface of the leather, often produces a lighter than actual tail color in photos. Sometimes, it even appears brown due to cracks in some of my pebbled black leathers. Also, the dark gray underside of the leather darkens immediately when wet. Thanks for your thoughts though.
