The difference isn't huge, but enough

I was almost out of Texas Toast chenille so I bought some more from CAT (the only place I've seen Texas Toast). Robert carries #3 on the site but through a special order, I was able to get #5 this time.

As you can see, there isn't that much difference but I was having to double wrap most of the jigs I used the #3on, especially the 1/8oz jigs. The jigs below are single wrapped and they turned out alright.

These are double wrapped with #3

They look like catchers to me. What size are the hooks?

If you want to make them bulkier without double wrapping your expensive chenille, use an underbody of cheap solid-color chenille that more or less matches the shade. Then you can tie in the more valuable stuff and wrap over it.

I just use yarn ( sneak a piece from the wife's arsenal ) to build underbodys then add desired material . Do like the looks of the TX Toast chenille .

Good idea Stacy. I like the yarn idea too. The jigs are 1/8oz with #2 sickle's.
