I sold a couple of my kayaks last month and got the funds together to buy a Wilderness Ride 115. Been rigging it over the past two weeks and today was the first trip to the lake with it. First fish caught was a 14'' crappie :D on a hand-tied squirrel tail jig :icon14::icon14: No better way to slime a new yak. The wind was tough today and made it hard to stay on the fish but managed to bring home a good mess for a meal.

Waiting for the new vids of you pulling some cranks ;)

Dunno nada about em, but they look like fun. Better than paddling the flat…
But… can you stand up in it and bless the water?
Smooth catch. Need some go video footage again

Nice kayak. I like the 115 - roomy, stable, and a comfortable seat.

Almost got one last month, but have a Jackson Coosa, Perception Pescadore, and an old Tarpon 100 that'll be donated to a 10 year old kid next year.

Looks like a fish catching machine to me Ron. Looks like what I need for low water fishing up here @ certain lakes. Just don't know how safe I would feel in one though. My fault for getting so big in my later years.

Thanks guys.
Papaperch, I went through the same problem with finding one that fit me right. This is my forth one in 1 year and finally found one that is just right(as Goldilocks would say):)

Thanks guys, still need to get the camera setups rigged.

I meant, I REALLY want to see ya paddling enough to pull your cranks

:D That day with the wind I had to paddle 90% of my time there. That's the bad part of a kayak, they blow around very easy!! My left elbow is now only working at around 60% :( I want to fish not paddle, paddling is a young mans game.:icon14:

Ron- if old man winter keeps tricking me prepare for your property value to plummet. Wife fell in love with South Carolina during our 2 week vacation. Since I retired she been bugging me about movin south.

My main objection has been my love of ice fishing ( also hate moving ) but this year starting to look like last 4. As in very very short or no ice season at all. With your posting of video and pix of December success her argument is starting to make sense.

The only thing southern that she did not care for was " grits ". Lady manager overheard her asking me about grits. Brought over a free bowl so wife could try. Even the fact they were free did not help. A guy from Live Oak FL got me to try them in the service.

Papaperch, one of my best friend is from Ohio and he comes over every Tuesday so you can't drop my property value any less than Bill has :D
I met Bill back around 1999, he dropped in my cabinet shop one day and he has been like a junk yard dog, can't run him off :):)
We take the Tuesdays to fish, set and talk or what ever comes to mine to do. Bill is about to turn 71 in January so he has slowed down since we first met so there is more talking than fishing in the cold months.

Once South Carolina gets in your blood it's hard to leave and them grits will get easier to handle. I have a friend that lives in NC that always said he couldn't learn how to chew the grits, I told him that is the reason for eggs and sausage so you could mix it all together..:)
I think once your wife has a bowl of shrimp & grits she may change he mine about grits :)
