A couple of friends from another forum drove down to my home lake, Okatibbee Res., and stayed with me in my camper. We ate, pulled cranks for crappie, and ate. We decided to call ourselves "Team Geezer" and this was our first annual event. Hunter7711 is coming down in Sept. and will be inducted into the team and Stump Hunter is talking about joining up this fall. Here's a few pics.

Thanks Ronny, pulling cranks is a blast. They hook themselves so I'll just set in the shade until a pole goes to shaking, then step up on the back deck and reel him in.

Sounds like a great trip Scott !!! I bet I know who painted those cranks too !!!

Weve had 3 or 4 get togethers out here with several forum members...Its always good to finally put some faces with the names we talk to online...(well, with most of them it is ;) )

They call our bunch, the West Texas "Motley Crew".....

Thanks guys, we had a blast. I'm glad to see the spawn over and the crappie migrating back to the deeper water so I can get them on the crankbaits. Yea Rad, the fluorescent colored cranks I airbrushed work good. Here's a pic of 50 I did for a friend recently.

Yep I think ima have head east and attend a crankin class! I know a lake here that would be good for trolling them. Just not many that do here. Nice paint jobs bud!

Thanks Ronny, if you have water 12 to 15 ft deep, you can pull cranks. You'll be surprised at the quality of the crappie you get on them.

Thanks LedHed and Az. Catching crappie on crankbaits is fun and productive. A friend and I finished third in a Magnolia Crappie Club tourney last Sat. pulling cranks. Painting them is about as fun as jig tying.

Nice paint jobs! What kind of paint?

Thanks, I use Createx airbrush paint. I tape the bills and apply two coats of white for a base coat. Then after painting, I apply an epoxy top coat.
